A keylogger is an application program designed to record what you digit on your keyboard. It is classified as a spyware because it is usually programmed to store your passwords, your credit card number and in general your private data. After a first recording phase, a keylogger will send your data out of your local computer through the internet connection, making available your records to the ones who developed that spyware. So you must absolutely avoid keyloggers: one solution could be a firewall which is able to block outgoing network traffic. Another one could be the simple installation of spyware detection and removal programs. |
